Finally! Someone who uses Krita :3
I love Krita. Once you get the hang of it, it's really just like Photoshop!
Many of the filters and brushes are the same, if you're not willing to spend the money, or are an inexperienced artist, try it!
It's a safe download, no viruses.

For a while, I've been using Photoshop, and eventually switched over to Gimp. I did try Krita out a few times, but never quite got the hang of it.

Then at some point, I decided to give the program another go. There are some brushes in Krita that I really liked and I wanted to mess around in those a little. I had to adjust the settings before I could properly use the brushes, but once I did, I found that I really like drawing in Krita. I still use Gimp every so often, but I moved mostly over to Krita. I found that I have a lot more fun sketching in Krita than I do with Gimp.

There are a couple things I don't like about Krita. The first one being that it's more CPU intensive. I can't select an area and color it without it being incredibly slow. The other, getting rid of color that went over the lineart is much harder because when it's selected, even using the right layer, the selection tool still acts as though the coloring is part of the lineart, forcing me to have to erase it manually. Gimp not only makes this process easier, but I find that it runs faster than Krita.

But overall, I prefer Krita for the most part.

I never liked Gimp, I go crazy because of the user interface. (I'm used to Photoshop) Krita is so much better than Gimp...
But I know that a lots of people like Gimp, so maybe it's just me... :D

In Krita, I liked to sketch, loved the brushes and the symmetrical rulers, but painting.... I didn't like that part. Oh and yes, there was a great lagg for me as well.
So eventually, I switched to another program (not a free one).

I should update my profile and upload here more often. Blush

Thank you for your comment! Meow :3

I didn't like Gimp at first, but once they had the Single Window Mode, I was sold (at least until I started doing my main drawing in Krita). I mostly switched to it because I find its paths tool is much better than Photoshop's pen tool, for creating paths to create lineart. The handles were so tiny in Photoshop, but Gimp made them a lot larger. So it became easier to create lineart with. I don't miss Photoshop all that much, really.

And you're welcome!

It really is. Recently I gave it a shot, because Photoshop has been ticking me off lately and I was seeking an alternative. Personally, in many ways I find Krita superior to Photoshop. At first I was thrown off by it's different interface, but after I adapted I find it a lot more enjoyable to work with than Photoshop.

Great stamp! I shall be using this!

On the right side of this page, there is a "Details" title. (You have to scroll down a little.)
Below that you'll see "Thumb". You just copy the thumb text (:@thumb393703940: -> like this without the "@") and paste it into any of your posts. :)

i am already in love with it.
Lighter than CS/Corel and more flexible than ArtRage ( with all the due respect), more user friendly than GIMP.
I've been struggling for ages with digital paint, let's see if with one i can make it. :D
